New favorite app

So I got this app on my iPhone and I LOVE it. It takes mediocre phone pics and you can choose from preset effects. This is my favorite so far (taken 2/28/11).

2 Months!

On February 25th Allie was actually 9 weeks, but 2 months old to the date! Her appointment went just fine, she is right on track with all of the milestones and as I mentioned before is starting to find her hands and mouth. She is cooing a little bit these days and has new and fun tricks every day. She has been holding her head up for a while, but that too progresses all the time. We try and get in a few 2-3 minute tummy-time sessions every day. She is sleeping for about 4-6 hours and then another 1-3 hour block overnight. She's eating about 24-26oz every day with 3-5oz bottles depending on how long its been since the last meal. She is following objects that they move (mostly Daddy and his cool beard). She will sit in her swing and watch the mobile above her for a few minutes before losing interest. Tonight she sat and did that and cooed at it for about 5 minutes! Of course I started the video camera about 10 seconds after she finished. Oh well, we have about 2 minutes of footage of her just staring into space!

Here is is at 2 months with Bumpkins!
She's getting bigger!

2 week update...

Sorry for the lag (again) in posts! So, last time I wrote it was the day before Valentines Day. Not a lot has happened, but a few significant things I want to make sure I write about. 1st of all, Valentines Day has a whole new meaning. Flowers and candles are not the exciting part anymore. This year I got my first real smile from my little baby! She has given sleep smiles before, but as I got up to feed her at 1am (at that point begrudginly), I was switching sides while nursing and she looked right at me, I said "hi baby" and she smiled - a few times! It was the best Valentines present I'd ever gotten (sorry honey). Later that evening, Jason came home with a rose plant (because they last longer than cut roses he says) with hopes of keeping it alive long enough to plant in our yard & ...wait for it.......raspberry cheesecake with Pinot Grigio! He always remembers the little things - so cute.

Here Allie is with her big Valentines Day smile (not the 1am one, but later that day) and her cute Valentines outfit from her Auntie Donna.

So, since then Allie has started smiling a lot. She has also started to find her mouth and hands. She literally puts almost her whole fist in her mouth at times and makes a loud sucking noise or (sometimes and) a maw maw maw sound like she is going to eat it. Very very cute. She has also started rubbing her eyes when she gets tired (seen here while cuddling with Daddy). That is pretty cute too.
Here are some other fun pics from the past few weeks:

Allie and Massey hanging out on the play mat
Bebo sure loves his little cousin!

Dad tried out the Baby Bjorn, we'll work on that one, Allie wasn't too sure of it...yet!
And of course I had to upload a crying picture! She's cute no matter what she's doing...even when she's fussy!

Almost Valentines Day

Though we do not have big plans for Valentines Day...as most of our holidays have gone by the wayside so far since Allie's debut...I must make this note to our new little girl.

Allie, in 2007 your Dad and I had our first Valentines date at Bonfire in Savage. I think I had steak and your Dad had salmon (which now I know is rare for him to order fish because he usually makes it better). We ordered a bottle of Pinot Grigio (also a surprise since your Dad isn't really a wine guy...he came to find out that I'm not really a wine girl either) and it turns out we ordered the one bottle that game in what some might call "super size"! It was pretty funny. One thing about the meal that I do remember though is that we ordered raspberry cheesecake and along with the pinot grigio, I must say - that was the best desert I've ever shared with your Dad! Not only because it was a perfect pair, but that is when I first really felt that we were too. I always wanted to be with your Dad, but never thought it would actually lead anywhere if we did start dating. Your Dad picked my up that night in his red truck with roses in hand (I have them dried on my dresser still to this day). When we got in his truck he gave me a card. It had a Pier 1 Imports gift card in it and said "so you can buy yourself some candles or something". This would be one of the many "so not romantic its romantic" gestures of your father. I look back on things like that which your Dad did for me and it makes me smile to say the least. There is so much that has happened between then and now. The significant things such as your Dad buying a house, asking me to move in and then to marry him...us getting married and then YOU! Through all of those, there were so many smaller pieces that all make the bigger ones fit perfectly together.
My wish for you is for you to grow up a strong and independent little lady into a strong and independent woman who finds someone as genuine, kind, generous and beautiful inside and out as your Daddy. I am lucky to have him and we are lucky to have you. We love you and this will definitely be our best Valentine's Day yet!
Love you to pieces little baby girl!

Around the house & the Woods' visit pictures!

Okay, so you might want to start from the bottom and scroll up. For some reason, Blogspot uploads in the opposite direction that I select the pictures...I'll try and make a "note-to-self" on that one! Anyway...enjoy!

Yep - these are most definately the two cutest pictures Mommy has EVER taken! It helps that the two of us are super cute! I miss Noah and Auntie Mamie already, but we'll see them again very soon I hope!

Auntie Becky came over and bounced with me on the ball....she's having a little girl soon too! I can't wait to cuddle with her outside of the belly, but for now, I'll just lay on the belly!

Noah thought Daddy was super funny. His beard was something that Noah was very entertained by!

Massey spent a lot of time checking Noah out. He's so tasty to lick!

Here is smiley Noah in the Twins onesie that everyone got for him before he was born...we'll see if it lasts size-wise until the actual baseball season!

Here I am watching the blurry shapes on the TV as Noah hams it up for the camera! Daddy told me not to get too comfy holding Noah's hand!

Mom's best friend from grade school (20 years!!!), Mamie, and my new bff Noah came in to town for a few days and we had so much fun!!! Here is Noah just hangin' in the Bumbo chair watching Sprout TV. This is how he started his day each morning. He talked and drooled through the whole thing!

This is the boppy positioner that Amanda Helle & Nora gave me...Mom thought she'd better get a picture of me in it before I grow too big!

Me in my swing....Mom and Dad's saving grace! This is where I nap most of the time during the day although Mom is going to try and transition me to my crib very soon!

Just hanging getting my diaper changed by Mom!

Miss Allie-Rae is getting so big! Amanda Holt (who has another blog that I have a horrible habit of copying...thanks Amanda!) gave me this idea. Every month I will put Allie in the same spot with Bumpkins (Jason's childhood bunny) to see how much she has grown. Here she is at one month! She was 9.6 lbs a few days before I took this. The rest of above will be narrated by Miss Allie herself!
