Okay, so I have an appointment at 2pm today to meet with the lady in HR - hopefully that will accomplish something. I just have to remember not to be too hasty and unworthy - even though I really am.
Now - to the Dad thing. All day yesterday people kept saying "oh well, at least you have a job right now" or "they're stupid for not realizing how well you would have done...but at least you have a job right now..." you get my point - it is a valid point and I appreciate the effort in supporting my frustration, however - no one could make me feel better except my Dad. His email is copied below:
It was a busy highway and everyone was in a hurry to get where they were going. A state trooper pulled over a guy for speeding. The guy, in frustration reminded the trooper that there were lots and lots of other speeders on the highway that day. The state trooper asked the guy if he was a hunter to which the guy said “yes”. The state trooper asked the guy if he ever missed a shot and the guy said “yes”. The state trooper then proceeded to fill out the ticket.
The moral is…you can’t get them all. Roll with it and get ready for the next one.
You’re more than good enough for any job I can think of, and maybe the right one hasn’t hit the presses yet.
Love, Dad
I'm not exactly sure what that means, but Yep - I have the best Dad ever.

What to think...
I'm really not sure what to think of this job. Is it really going unnoticed that I do nothing all day?
This is rediculous! I'm sure you're all really sick of listening to me complain about this (yeah, all 3 of you that know about this blog) but ya know what - I've got nuthin else to do!!!!!
Here are a few pictures of Massey from this weekend. We bathed her - we being Jason actually bathed her and I stood, pointed, and laughed...and took pictures obviously. She also went to Henry's Birthday Party which was all sorts of germy fun! Lots of pets and kisses from kids!

This is my favorite picture EVER! She always squints when the red-eye thing goes on, but this time it made for a great look on her cute wet face!!!

Mama and Massey having a cuddly kiss - I know, sappy.
Donna made Henry the 2 cakes that he wanted - the chocolate ganash (sp?) one is the planet from Star Wars (sp & name...I cannot remember for the life of me!) and the other - clearly, are legos. She's so good at that stuff!!!
Then of course - Albert looking cute as ever with Massey!

Rebelling vs. Preserving Sanity
Okay - so I'm going to leave work early today. I already turned in my timecard for the day so I actually am "playing hookie" as some might say. Do I care? No.
I am leaving because I have done one thing related to work all day. My boss is gone, so are 4 out of the 5 directors and I have done nothing besides updated my Facebook account and check my gmail account about 800 times today. I am not supposed to be on either of them, but what else would I do all day?!?!
Over my lunch I did go to Webers Westdale though to check out a rose that Mary (the amazing flower lady there) ordered to see the color. It turns out it is not the right color at all, but then she gave me both roses for me to take home! Bonus!
Then I went in to Barnes and Noble and bought copies of NEED Magazine. It is a current events/philanthropic magazine. Tony has a published article in it!!! My Tony is a published author! Well worth the $6 for a magazine.
No word back from M.E. yet. Still waiting - as I usually do.
Here is something to write about though. My Aunt called me yesterday. She wanted to ask me about something that had obviously been on her mind for a bit. My Grandpa ("The Man") who recently passed away gave both of my sisters a table (I think it is a smaller side table) when they got married. My Aunt called me to check to see if I would want one - her reasoning for asking was that when she asked my Mom about it, my Mom said that it might not be of "my taste". Why my Mother would think that anything my Grandpa wanted to give me would be out of my taste is beyond me!
Here's the kicker - my Aunt told me that when my Grandpa was in the hospital. He mentioned a few things for my Dad and her to take care of. Making sure that I got my table once I got married was of great importance to him. So - Mom - I do want the table, no matter what it looks like! I thought it was really sweet of her to call though. I've found (unfortunately only in the past month or so after The Man passed away) that my Aunt and I are more similar that we thought. Before, you could mistake her for being my Mom because we look more alike than any other 2 people in our family. Now - I realize that we are "the emotional" people in the family. She cried as she told me what my Grandpa had asked her to make sure that I got. Although crying isn't usually a happy thing - this time it was, for me at least.
Alright - enough with the sap. I'm going now. I think I'll go buy a pair of shoes with the money I'm earning while not being here! HA!
Just kidding - I'll just look at shoes.

MY STRING OF EVENTS - which were mostly good!
Alright, so just as I thought I was going to lose it - good things started to happen. We had a great 1st pre-marital therapy session, Massey graduated out of puppy kindergarten and on to level 2, I was in a good mood yesterday, I was busy all day, we had a great food tasting for the wedding, I finally found a reindeer sweater for Henry (which was a serious 3-mall trip feat), XM merged with Sirius and I now have an all Elvis station...and then today I got the following email!!!!!!!
Hi Kate,Thank you for the follow-up. I am sorry that it is taking such a long time to get back in touch. The process of interviewing has taken much longer than I anticipated. We are in a final deliberation over the next day or two. I really should be able to get back with you within that timeframe with further info. Thanks again for the follow-up and I hope that things are going well for you.Kim
Final deliberations about what?!?! Are they not doing second interviews? That could literally be 50-50 a good thing or a bad thing. Who knows!?!?!? At least it is a response!
Anyhoo - don't uncross your fingers just yet - I need it!!!
To Be Continued.......
p.s. About the sweater for Henry. I emailed Donna the other day about what Henry might need for winter clothes that we could get him for his b-day party this weekend. She said that 3 years ago, Uncle Jason gave him a Christmas Sweater which had reindeer on it. Although this was his holiday sweater, he often was found wearing it in the summer he loved it so much! That sweater is now too small for Henry and he is seemingly very perplexed about what he will wear for this Holiday season... because the other one is too small! Long story short - no one had a boys sweater with reindeer on it that was either over 4T or under $95. Until I said, "alright, I'm going to go in to Gap kids to look, but if they don't have one - he's not gettin a freakin' reindeer sweater!" And there it was - sitting on the table - even one that was a little bit too big for him so he can wear it for a few more years. There you go Aunt Emma - the reindeer sweater story! Gotta do it - it's Henwy!

Registering is exhausting
Registering for a wedding is something people should know to "carb up" for! We spent THREE HOURS in Bed Bath & Beyond yesterday. Yowzas - we only go through one side of the store! We did get the majority of the stuff done, but who knew that it would take that long!?! On top of that - I have no idea where we are going to put everything! The plan is to empty out the cabinets of stuff that we get replacements for, but we literally have like 2 double door, 1 single door cabinets, and about 3 drawers to put 300 items in!
All I have left to do now is featherbed and sheets and stuff for the guest rooms - and cross my fingers that the bedding I want for us doesn't end up being another "seasonal victim" at Pottery Barn! I hate turn-over!
Oh well, we did have fun and we are getting a lot of very useful stuff - and made a point to only register for stuff that we would use... well, most of it :).
So, now we have invitations, registry almost done, flowers, 1 meeting with the church wedding coordinator, bridesmaid dresses, my dress, centerpieces, DJ, Photo people, and ordered samples of the tuxes and colors for Jason to try on DONE! We only need to decide on food, the tux and tie as I mentioned before... and the vows and marriage counseling stuff, but that doesn't take all that much. That is what Pastors and Psychatrists are for!
Yeah! I'm only 145 days away from being a Cavanaugh!
